- 180 g 0% Greek yogurt
- 120 g English cucumber, peeled
- juice from 1/2 a lemon
- 3 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Pepper to taste
Tzatziki is a satisfying, creamy Greek sauce that’s loaded with fresh garlic and cucumbers. It’s ideal for dipping meatballs and spreading on pita, but really, it’s a great accompaniment to any Mediterranean meal.
Instructions
- Prep the cucumber: Grate the cucumber into a bowl and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp of salt. Let sit for 10 minutes, allowing the salt to pull out excess liquid from the cucumber. After 10 minutes, wrap the grated cucumber in a few paper towels or clean towel and wring out the excess liquid.
- Combine the drained cucumber, yogurt, lemon juice, pressed garlic and pepper in a bowl and mix to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired. Top with chopped parsley or mint.
