When I got the email that I was off the waiting list for WAG I was hesitant to join; I had just started ramping up my running mileage in preparation for the New York City Marathon and was worried that changing up my nutrition could possibly be detrimental to my training (I also wanted to continue my usual Crossfit 3-4x week in addition to running). But I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to be a part if the program so I went for it! I was definitely skeptical when Coach Kelsie gave me my macros- and kept them the same there for the entirety of my program, through my training. But I trusted the process and ended up feeling fantastic with the numbers she gave me. I was generally always saciated, felt properly fueled on my runs, felt strong in the gym and loved what was happening to my body! I have always been very active and athletic but never felt my physique reflected the work I put in at the gym or running. WAG really opened my eyes to how truely pertinent nutritional intake is to how you look and feel, no matter how much time you put in at the gym. Don't get me wrong, I still love my pizza and beer, but have learned how to fit it into my macros appropriately and in much more moderation. At week 7 I ran my personal best marathon time and continued to lose weight even though I took the rest of the month off from running. I am hitting PRs at the gym and love the path I'm heading down. I am grateful for WAG and recommend this program to anyone ready to make that change in their life.
